Mohegan Sun’s 17th Annual Sun Wine & Food Fest takes place Friday, January 24th – Sunday, January 26th, and a variety of celebrities are joining in on the fun with appearances at the Bourbon Tasting, Grand Tasting, Celebrity Chef Dine Around and more! Tickets to all events are still available for purchase via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. Ticket prices are subject to increase the day of the events.
The Bourbon Tasting presented by Beam Suntory, Inc. takes place on Friday, January 24th in the Earth Ballroom and will feature a special appearance by 20-year NBA all-star Charles Oakley. Oakley most well-known for his time with the New York Knicks in the 90s as a hard playing Power Forward. Guests can get a taste of the finest bourbon from Jim Beam, devour tasty selections from Bear’s Restaurant group and receive a cigar from BoutiqueCigar.com. The Bourbon Tasting presented by Beam Suntory Inc. takes place from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and tickets are $90.
At the Grand Tasting Preview, guests can get a sneak peek of the main event while enjoying a performance by Maggie Rose on the Coca-Cola Kitchen Stage. A woman of exceptional versatility and variety, Maggie Rose draws from the many musical genres at play – a love of storytelling and substantive lyrics learned from Country music, an affinity for finely crafted Pop production, R&B’s commitment to an irresistible groove. Maggie Rose is also set to perform a free show in the Wolf Den on Thursday, January 23rd at 8:00pm. Additionally, Ben Robinson of Bravo’s hit series Below Deck/Below Deck Mediterranean will show off his skills with a chef demonstration on the Main Stage presented by Gotham Steel Stack Master. The Grand Tasting Preview takes place in the Earth Expo Center on Friday, January 24th from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Tickets are $45, with designated driver tickets available for $20.
The Grand Tasting will introduce a new chef to Sun Wine & Food Fest. Richard Blais, winner of Bravo’s Top Chef All-Stars and recurring judge on Top Chef and Master Chef will join some of the best in the business with a variety of electrifying chef demonstrations on the Main Stage presented by Gotham Steel Stack Master. The Grand Tasting in the Earth Expo Center is from Noon – 5:00pm on Saturday, January 25th and tickets are $95. Designated driver tickets are available for $20.
The Celebrity Chef Dine Around presented by Hendrick’s Gin will tease a taste of TAO with a showcase of dining options by Ralph Scamardella, Partner/Chef with Tao Group Hospitality. TAO Restaurant at Mohegan is set to open this year, featuring a menu of elevated Pan-Asian fare, a beverage program catering to Asian tastes and a robust sake program. Over 25 celebrity chefs will also participate in Mohegan Sun’s signature walk-around event, creating signature food items paired with a wine, beer or spirit. Other celebrity appearances during this event include Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill from Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta and newly-crowned Miss America Camille Schrier. Music will be provided by DJ Irie. Celebrity Chef Dine Around is from 8:00pm – 10:30pm on Saturday, January 25th in the Uncas Ballroom. Tickets are $190.
Sun Wine & Food Fest’s Sunday Brunch will be kicked up a notch with the Brunch Battle. Two Connecticut-based chefs will go head-to-head with only 30 minutes to create the best dish to present to celebrity chef judges Aarón Sánchez, Amanda Freitag, Marc Murphy and Maneet Chauhan. Norwich native Ceil Vardar, food writer, cooking instructor and winner of Food Network’s Chopped will face Daniel Monroe, a former US Army culinary specialist and current chef at Fairfield, Connecticut’s gourmet grocery store, The Pantry. The winner will receive a $1,000 Mohegan Sun gift card, have their brunch item added to a special featured menu at Todd English’s Tuscany and earn the title of “Brunch Battle Champion”. This event is from 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Uncas Ballroom, tickets are $90.
Mohegan Sun’s newest ultra-lounge novelle wraps up the Sun Wine & Food Fest weekend on Sunday, January 26th with the Champagne Brunch presented by Truly Hard Seltzer. Guests can mix and mingle with Tom & Tom from Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, Miss America, Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill while Brandi Cyrus spins a live DJ set. A special á la carte menu will be available from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Tickets are $20, for table reservations with bottle service call 860.861.5994.
