One Night Only: A Taste of Spain at Pulpería Latin Mediterranean

This week Pulpería Latin Mediterranean Kitchen will host Taste of Spain, a vibrant tasting dinner in collaboration with Despaña, NYC’s premier purveyor of fine Spanish foods.
On Wednesday, October 22nd, the restaurant will showcase Despeña’s gourmet meats with a 3-course tasting menu for two by Executive Chef Miguel Molina, inspired by Spain’s tradition of shareable plates and tables full of community and passion.
Beginning at 7 pm, guests will start with Mejillones en Escabeche, mussels served with a toasted rustic bread, followed by a savory selection of tapas: Pulpo a la Gallega, boiled potatoes, pimentón de la vera, Maldon sea salt and extra virgin olive oil; Croquetas de Jamon Serrano with bechamel sauce and a piquillo aioli; and Empanadillas de Atun, tomato sofrito with green olives, pimentón de la vera and albacore tuna.
For the main course, guests may choose from one of Pulperia’s three signature paellas, all served with Bomba rice:
- Seafood, monkfish, mussels, Spanish chorizo, little neck clams, and squid with fish fumet, nora sofrito, saffron and piquillo aioli, with the choice to add squid ink
- Chicken & Chorizo with green peas, roasted red peppers, guindilla peppers sofrito, chicken broth, and piquillo aioli
- Grilled Picaña with oyster mushrooms, pearl onions, and piquillo peppers with beef froth, nora sofrito, and truffle aioli
To conclude the evening, Pulpería will offer two decadent desserts: Cheesecake Brûlée and Dulce de Leche Churros. Beverages and an exclusive wine pairing will be available at an extra cost.
