Ahead of Dia de los Muertos, NFL and NFL Mexico are celebrating one of Mexico’s most important traditions in a uniquely powerful way. The second edition of Hasta La Muerte brings together American football and Mexican heritage, inviting fans and teams to honor their loved ones through the spirit of the game.
This year, ten NFL teams participating in the NFL Global Markets Program (GMP)—Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and San Francisco 49ers —joined fans to build Día de Muertos altars that reflect both their team pride and the memories of those who supported them “Hasta La Muerte.”
Renowned Mexican artist Adán Díaz de León (“Atrapaluz”) designed new, limited-edition visuals that merge the vibrancy of Mexican folk art with the iconography of each NFL team. His exclusive “NFL Hasta La Muerte” collection is now available through NFL México licensees like New Era, Wilson, and Riddell, as well as Fanatics in the U.S.—but only until November 5 or while supplies last.
The celebration culminated with an awards ceremony recognizing the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders for the most original altars, and a Catrina contest where the Miami Dolphins took home the prize for best costume and makeup. Fans also enjoyed Week 6 NFL games surrounded by a festive mix of football, music, and Mexican culture—honoring the connection between sport, identity, and remembrance.
