Nina Agdal is HOT. Literally and figuratively. There is no denying that the Danish model is having a great year. After being named Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year in 2012, the Danish beauty has landed the cover the iconic magazine’s 50th Anniversary issue. The publication, released today also features Chrissy Tiegen and Lily Aldridge on the cover, making it the first time in history SI has a trio on the cover.

Late last year Agdal was also chosen as the spokes model for the popular fashion line bebe. She has modeled for Billabong, Macy’s, Frederick’s of Hollywood, and Victoria’s Secret. In addition she appeared in a 2013 Super Bowl television commercial for Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s.

HOMBRE: It’s a big honor to be included in the Sports Illustrated issue, how did you learn you made the cover?
Nina Agdal: It was a surprise and I learned of it a few hours before the announcement. I was in Palm Springs, in the desert where I didn’t have any signal. I had to go to the visitor center and get on a skype call on my phone. I thought I was doing an interview call to talk about the location and then MJ (Sports Illustrated’s editor) walks into the room holding the cover. I was so excited and then the park ranger came to me because I was being too loud. I’m sorry but somehing big just hapened. I cant be quiet.

HOMBRE: Last year you became the spokesmodel for bebe, tell us about the photos.
NA: I’m so excited. We went for a very different concept, not too ‘posey,’ just capture a moment. I’m so proud because I feel like I’m kind of the girl next door. I’m really like everyone else but I just ended up in this industry and we’re shooting with a great photographer who got a lot of great shots. It was just about me being me. Everyone at the shoot made me feel great about myself.

H: How did you book the campaign?
NA: I was called for a casting, went so see them and then I tried on some of their dresses to see how they fit me. Their dresses fit me so well. We did a couple of photos in their studio and then I shot their campaign.

8nina1 H: What’s next for you?
NA: Now I’m hopefully going to be doing a lot of stuff for Sports Illustrated and continue the campaign for bebe. But besides that I hopefully will get a lot of other jobs and a lot of other opportunities. I’m taking acting classes. I’m definitely going to get into it.

9ninaH: How about music?
NA: I’m terrible at any one instrument. I can’t sing. If there’s anything you can’t make me do is sing. Probably acting will be my next step after I continue my modeling career.

H: What kind of guys do you like?
NA: I love Latin men.
