Edge Shave Gel is offering you a shot at life-changing career experiences in some of today’s most exciting industries through the #DreamJob social media contest. The mission for Edge Shave Gel is clear: give Edge users the ultimate advantage by offering them the shot at a dream job experience.

edge 3Hopefuls can now create an online “resume” on Facebook and complete a series of challenges to score points, impress the judges and launch themselves to the top of the resume stack, for the shot at a behind-the-scenes experience with Sports Illustrated, IGN, Thrillist or Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker‘s Hulu Original series ‘The Awesomes.’

edge 5To announce the contest Edge Shave Gel held a reception at Home Studios in New York City. Guests had the chance to taste test several dishes, preview and play the latest releases with IGN gamers, become animated in ‘The Awesomes,’ and, best of all, meet Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Genevieve Morton.

From the bathroom to the boardroom, Edge Shave Gel provides men an advantage for what’s ahead, and now the brand will give four qualified winners the chance to take a break from the daily grind for the experience of a lifetime.

Dream Job candidates will have six weeks to use social media to post content and complete challenges in order to land an interview for the job of their choice. The winning applicant for each Dream Job experience will be chosen based on his resume strength and qualifications for the role by a panel of judges, including representatives from the brand, Sports Illustrated, IGN, Thrillist and Broadway Video, a producer of ‘The Awesomes.’

“Edge Shave Gel does more than give guys an advantage in front of the mirror. We’re dedicated to providing a leg up in all aspects of their lives,” said Matt Rader, Group Marketing Director at Energizer Personal Care. “Edge users are ambitious and hard-working, so now we’re helping them break into some of today’s most competitive industries with these Dream Job experiences. Know you have the talent, but haven’t been able to get a foot in the door? Here’s your shot at adding an amazing new experience to your resume. We can’t wait to see how the candidates will rise to the occasion.”

Social Media Cred and Challenges Move Hopefuls up the Resume Stack
Prospective candidates can strengthen their resumes and gain points by registering on EdgeDreamJob.com, syncing their social networks, posting content and completing challenges. Challenges will ask guys to respond to prompts on social media focused on the requirements of each job, such as writing bite-sized food and drink reviews for Thrillist on Facebook, or using Instagram to share a picture of your at-home gaming set-up for IGN. Candidates will use a designated hashtag for each dream job experience (#Work4SI, #Work4Thrillist, #Work4Awesomes, or #Workf4IGN), linking their content and gaining points to add to their resume.

Unlike other job application processes, Edge Shave Gel is offering an advantage over the competition by letting candidates see what others are bringing to the table.  Each job experience page will feature a resume stack so guys can see where they rank and get inspired to create new content and earn more points. At the end of six weeks, a group of 10 top-scorers for each job will be chosen for the final “interview” process. The winner will experience the Dream Job opportunity of a lifetime and gain valuable on-the-job experience working closely with industry leaders.

Among those industry leaders is Brad Smith, Director of Photography at Sports Illustrated: “In partnership with Edge, we’re offering behind-the-scenes access to a 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition shoot,” said Smith. “Swimsuit shoots don’t just put models on the map; we work with some of the best teams in the world to create images that millions will see, so this is a huge opportunity for any aspiring photographer.”

Get the Gear that Gets the Job
For men who don’t make it to the top of the resume stack, there are still plenty of ways to win. Each piece of content candidates share using a Dream Job hashtag is an entry to win a daily prize pack featuring a laptop case and a year’s supply of Edge Shave Gel, or a weekly prize inspired by each job including a Ubisoft Watchdogs Next-Gen Gaming Package and a Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR camera with lens.
