What comes to mind when you hear the word Pulperia? If you’re Latino, or have traveled to Latin America then you imagine a vibrant, dynamic, friendly, and very lively neighborhood staple. And that’s exactly what you’ll find when you visit any of the three New York City based La Pulperia restaurants. This is a must-visit spot for those in search of delicious traditional Latin cuisine – with a twist. Just the right ambiance for a business lunch, romantic date, or late night celebrations with the guys.

La Pulperia’s three locations are spread out around the Big Apple, meaning you’re bound to find your new favorite restaurant nearby. When you’re in Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown, or the Upper East Side you’ll be steps closer to sampling rustic creative cuisine from South and Central America.

The restaurant also calls itself a Cockteleria Clasica and the reason is simple. The hand crafted cocktails list is full of unique choices including Carlos Gardel (Blat Vodka, Yerba Mate and citrus juices) or the Hibiscus Piscus (Pisco 100 & Hendrick’s gin, fresh lemon juice,   Hibiscus-Chamomile tea infusion). For those who have hard time choosing just settle for cocktail sampler. Wine lovers will be hard pressed to find a larger wine glass than the gigantic goblets used here.

La Pulperia knows how to impress the most demanding gourmand. To start out we suggest you try their Cruditos raw bar menu. The Crudo Tasting Plate includes three selections and is a practical choice for those visiting for the first time, offering a glimpse of the different options.
Just make sure to try Salmon Brulee (Salmon tartar, fromage brulee, strawberry & ginger leche de tigre, micro bull blood greens). At first Salmon and Strawberry may not seem like a common mix, but trust us, you’ll be surprised at how delicious a combination it turns out to be. Follow your adventurous side, you won’t regret it.

Another innovative offering from the menu is Barbacoa de Pacu Pacu better known here as Fish Ribs. Served with a savory chipotle BBQ sauce, the blend of flavors will bring your taste buds to a new level, just blossoming in your palate.

At La Pulperia you’ll find an expansive selection of seafood options. Among our favorites are the Lobster Taquitos, the Black Seafood Spaghetti, the stunning Seafood Tower, and a superb Grilled Lobster.

We highly recommend the signature dish Moqueca Mixta, a mix of mussels, scallops, shrimps, squid in a special sauce, accompanied with a coconut rice.

Meat lovers will also be thrilled. Among our favorites is the Hanger Steak, placed on a wooden board, already sliced, and served with several salads on the side.

We admit it, with such a broad and satisfying menu it’s tough not to overindulge. But make sure to leave room for dessert. La Pulperia has one of the best Tres Leches in the city. It’s no exaggeration to say that this dessert is a must. So either share it with friends, or take it to go. You can thank us later.

If you’re planning a company party, or a family celebration the midtown location has an upstairs room perfect for any occasion. It overlooks the main dining room and you can have your very own DJ set up.

Last but not least La Pulperia takes care of those who practice specialized diets, and has plenty gluten free dishes available.

Don’t wait too long. Visit La Pulperia to experience, explore, and celebrate a varied, delicious, and exciting menu that delivers a flavorful explosive experience of Latin cuisine. All presented in a fun, colorful atmosphere reminiscent of the reasons you fell in love with Latin culture and Latin cuisine in the first place.
