Milka Duno’s first NASCAR Nationwide Series race will be Friday, August 22 in the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This will mark the first time in NASCAR history that a Hispanic female driver will compete in a NASCAR national series race in the United States. Duno will compete in RAB Racing’s No. 29 Toyota Camry.

Bristol Motor Speedway’s 0.533-mile short track is one of the most popular circuits on the Nationwide Series schedule and features an all-concrete surface, steep banking and two pit roads.

While this will be Duno’s first race at Bristol she is no stranger to short-track racing. In her three years of competition in the ARCA Racing Series (ARCA) she competed in multiple races at the short tracks on the series schedule. In the seven short track races she competed in her first full ARCA season in 2013 she scored two top-10 finishes (8th at Salem Speedway and 10th at Winchester Speedway) and never finished below 15th.

“I really like short-track racing and enjoyed those races in ARCA very much,” said Duno. “But this will not only be my first time racing at Bristol, it will also be my first NASCAR Nationwide Series race, and I know that the competition at this level is fierce. I’m sure that it will be a big challenge and together with the RAB Racing crew we’ll be working hard to earn a good result.”

The Food City 300 Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway will be televised live Friday, August 22 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The event can also be heard live on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90 and on MRN Radio.
