With springtime on the horizon Cape Resorts properties have announced their seasonal reopening dates, including The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages in Shelter Island, Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor and The Virginia Hotel & CottagesCongress Hall, and Beach Plum Farm in Cape May, NJ.

The family-run collection of historic hotels prides themselves on their unique portfolio of hotels, all of which celebrate the history of the towns where they’re located.

THE PRIDWIN HOTEL & COTTAGES – Shelter Island, NY
SEASON OPENING DATE: May 10, 2024

The classic American resort The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages on Shelter Island – a more low key and approachable option to the Hamptons easily accessible from NYC through various means of transportation – is reopening for the season on May 10th.
Originally constructed in 1927 and renovated in April of 2023 by Cape Resorts and The Petry Family, The Pridwin has long served as a beacon of tradition and welcoming hospitality on Long Island’s East End. Perfectly combining playful nostalgia with a modern sensibility, the refreshed Main House features 33 rooms and various gathering and meeting spaces, plus 16 private cottages, all situated on over 7 acres of lovingly restored shoreline that overlooks Shelter Island’s Crescent Beach.
The sprawling retreat and camp-like atmosphere is enhanced by its plethora of outdoor activities and spaces, including paddleboards, pickle-ball, yoga, a spa, private beach and a poolside experience that is being revamped to include a luxurious offering of complimentary popsicles, refreshments, and more.
The Pridwin is also partnering with The New York Academy of Art this summer to offer Impression personalized artist retreats set overlooking the beautiful waterfront of the Peconic Bay on the Pridwin’s luscious tree-lined campus. Additionally, the restaurant on property, The Terrace, will now be helmed by Executive Chef Matthew Murphy, serving  elevated American cuisine featuring locally caught fish and seafood, Shelter Island produce, and wines from East End vineyards and beyond. The entire property, designed by Cape Resorts’ Vice President of Design, Colleen Bashaw, evokes a timeless seaside resort that provides true Shelter Island luxury for the perfect summer retreat.

BARON’S COVE – Sag Harbor, NY
SEASON OPENING DATE: March 29, 2024

Located in the historic village of Sag Harbor, the exquisitely renovated Baron’s Cove features a nautically inspired hotel lobby, bar and lounge with cozy wood burning fireplaces, a breezy front porch, stunning side veranda and classic all-American restaurant with sweeping water views of the harbor.
This casually sophisticated 67-room resort offers luxurious rooms with private garden terraces, harbor loft suites with balconies, village rooms as well as dog-friendly rooms. For the 2024 season, The Restaurant at the Baron’s Cove main dining room and lounge area will be redesigned to make it more comfortable and efficient, featuring a new service bar.
Family friendly amenities and activities include the harborside heated saltwater pool, tennis court, fitness studio, spa services, summer culinary events, and complimentary beach service with transportation, as well as an onsite concierge. Baron’s Cove is also the only venue in Sag Harbor featuring live entertainment every night during the summer season.

THE VIRGINIA HOTEL & COTTAGES – Cape May, NJ
SEASON OPENING DATE: March 22, 2024

The Virginia Hotel & Cottages is a sophisticated adults-only venue located in one of the city’s most beautiful Victorian period structuresThis impeccably restored circa 1879 boutique hotel located in the heart of Cape May is just steps from the beach and features fine dining in the iconic Ebbitt Room. The restaurant’s menu highlights locally sourced products from local Beach Plum Farm.
All of The Virginia Hotels’ richly decorated 24 rooms offer an elegant yet relaxed ambiance for ultimate comfort. Guests also can enjoy a delicious Continental breakfast, complementary afternoon coffee and baked goods and a ‘social sips’ hour at the Ebbitt Room Bar.  Nearby are the Virginia Cottages which may be rented by the full house or as separate apartments—perfect for large or small groups for an extended stay.

CONGRESS HALL – Cape May, NJ

Congress Hall, originally opened in 1816, America’s oldest seaside resort is the grand dame of Cape May hospitality. Rated as one of the country’s top agricultural getaways, Beach Plum Farm is a 62-acre actual working farm by the sea. The farm’s activities include everything from beach clean-ups, scavenger hunts, farm yoga, horseback riding and even participating in integral farm operations like harvesting.  There is no shortage of wild bird watching on hiking paths and a bevy of surprises like a fridge stocked with farm products and fresh coffee; hidden waterways and hiking trails.
Farm guests and visitors may tour the farm grounds and also enjoy shopping and dining at The Beach Plum Farm Kitchen & Market. The farm also hosts a farm-to-table dinner series throughout the year. Beach Plum Farm also provides several local restaurants and hotels with fresh produce, eggs, pork, poultry, herbs and more.
