Since I was a little girl, I remember always loving sweets. My dad would bring my sister, mom, and I a bowl of ice cream at the end of the night. I’d light up like a kid in a candy store when I’d see him walking toward me with a bowl filled with two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream topped with Hershey’s chocolate syrup. There’s nothing like indulging in a sweet treat every once in a while. So now when I need to satisfy my sweet tooth, I turn to the two-level 8,000-square-foot Sugar Factory in Midtown Atlanta.

The location, which has been open since 2019, has a well-known celebrity following. A-listers from Ludacris to Lil Baby come here for their candy craving. Just imagine having a couple of colorful candy necklaces at the bottom of your 64-ounce Candy Shop Goblet (yes, this is a 50 Cent creation) made with Branson Cognac, rum, and tequila.

I tried the hotspot’s buttermilk fried chicken and classic waffle, which comes with a side of maple syrup, whipped butter, and whipped cream. The three pieces of breaded chicken were crispy, juicy, and quite the mouthful. I paired the brunch menu dish with the Raspberry Sin, which is made with fresh raspberries, white chocolate, and whipped cream. It is heavenly!

The menu has more than 100 items including a 24K Gold Burger and the showstopping Strawberry Cheesecake Overload Pancakes, a new brunch favorite. After stuffing your face with any of the Monster Pancake Stacks (the Insane Double Stack Rainbow Pancakes come with rainbow sprinkles, gummy bears, and chocolate chips), finish the meal with a Mimosa Popsicle Goblet. The over-the-top concoction is made with champagne, orange juice, gummy bears, and gummy cherry champagne popsicles.

Although you’ll probably be bursting at the seams by the time you’re finished, you have to stop by the onsite retail confectionary where you can take some of the goodness home with you. From colorful candy buttons to the crunchy-sweet Bananarama candies to chocolate bars and licorice, fill see-through plastic bags with your faves.
