Upper Story is the new restaurant from renowned Chef and Aureole restaurant founder Charlie Palmer, known for his firm belief in high quality ingredients, carefully selected wine pairings and great hospitality. The property sits 14 stories above Third Avenue at 59th Street in the prestigious Decoration & Design Building (DDB).

Upper Story by Charlie Palmer features a progressive American, seasonally driven special events menu. Local ingredients are expertly crafted into delectable dishes by Chef Fernando Marulanda, who combines his life-long passion for food with incredible attention to detail.

The venue can host private events for breakfast, lunch or dinner, seven days a week for up to 300 people at a standing cocktail event or up to 180 guests seated for a meal. It also features a picturesque 1,000 sq. ft. outdoor terrace overlooking the 59th Street Bridge.

With the stunning top floor views and spacious interior, this is an ideal setting for corporate events. A menu at Upper Story can include delicious Hors D’Oeuvres such as Miso Glazed Cod on a crispy rice cake, Tuna & Avocado Tartare with whole grain mustard aioli on rye toast, and the Mini Goat Cheese Soufflés. Diners can enjoy the Beet Carpaccio with housemade ricotta, shaved fennel and citrus vinaigrette and Seared Alaskan Halibut served with a mushroom and fava bean fregola, braised fennel and tomato confit. Delectable desserts include the Lemon-Ricotta Almond Cake with blueberry coulis, honeycomb candy and whipped mascarpone and  the Vanilla Panna Cotta with a raspberry coulis.

With a modern yet classic design approach, Upper Story offsets a soft color palette with dark nuances that complement both the daytime and nighttime views from the restaurant’s oversized windows, creating an elegant backdrop for uniquely themed private events.

During lunch, Upper Story offers an American café menu, which includes the Baby Kale Tabbouleh salad with Jersey tomatoes, English cucumber, ricotta salata and mint chiffonade; the Roasted Chicken Sandwich with tomato jam, olive tapenade and smoked mozzarella on ciabatta; and the Zucchini Noodles with pesto calabrese, ricotta and arugula. End your lunch on a sweet note with one of the delicious dessert options, such as the Creme Brulée or a selection of Cookies.
