With America’s multiculturalism, what better way to celebrate Independence Day than to experience New York’s ethnic cuisine.  Check below for superior eateries with specials for the Fourth of July Weekend.

El Cartel Tapas Bar and Restaurant, a family-owned and operated restaurant rooted in Colombian cuisine and culture which has just opened in Hell’s Kitchen, will be offering an array of specials for the Fourth of July Weekend for Friday (7/1), Saturday (7/2), and Sunday (7/3), priced from $30 – $55, but closed on Monday (7/4).

Entrée specials include a choice of: Seafood Rice and Bass Filet, a coastal flavored seafood rice with fried striped bass ($30); Filete Cartagena, fried, stripped filet topped with a homemade red sauce and shrimp served with rice and fried cassava ($35); and Parrillada for Two, a well-packed meal for two consisting of pork chops, chicken breast, skirt steak, shrimp, and Colombian chorizo served with fried yuca, French fries, yellow rice, and black beans ($55). Beverage is not included in the price.

El Cartel’s beverage program offers Frozen Sangria with a white or red wine base as well as a selection of imported and domestic beer by the bottle headlined by Aguila, the top selling beer in Colombia.

~~~Mollusca is the newly opened high-design seafood-centric restaurant in the Meatpacking District. The restaurant’s exquisite menu designed by Executive Chef Gianmaria Sapia features extensive raw bar selections, an Italian-inspired pasta and risotto course, seafood-centric main courses, and the signature dish and namesake, mussels served in 35 unique sauces. The restaurant also showcases a beautifully designed and well-stocked taupe marble cocktail bar where Beverage Director Kate Uglova creates cocktails with intricate flavors and uncommon ingredients. Mollusca will be open on the Fourth of July from 5 pm to 11 pm and the new outdoor patio is the perfect place to celebrate.

Limani New York will be open on Saturday (7/2), from 12 pm to 11 pm, and Sunday (7/3), from 3 pm – 10 pm, with their a la carte menu available for those gathering with family and friends. Whole fish selections from and specialty selections from Limani New York’s raw bar—like the irresistibly flaky and buttery Branzino, which is encased in salt and served tableside; and the Head-On Carabineiros from Spain—are perfect for sharing with the whole table and serve as healthier, leaner options with beach season finally upon us. The restaurant also offers an extensive global wine list and refreshing, Greek-inspired cocktails like the Mediterranean Mule with Figenza Fig vodka, pomegranate juice, fresh lime juice, topped with ginger beer, and served over ice.

For those who prefer outdoor dining, Limani New York offers a bird’s-eye view of Rockefeller Center to take in the picturesque sights and ideal for a little people watching. Or, indoor dining provides views of a beautiful blue infinity pool, where a fish mobile gives the illusion of twirling overhead.

Hortus NYC, the fashion-forward Michelin-recognized Modern Asian restaurant in NoMad has recently released a spring menu that highlights flavors from China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia that will take guests on a culinary journey at an approachable price point. On the restaurant’s second level, Hortus NYC features a hidden garden that creates the perfect environment for the Fourth of July; lunch, served from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm, or dinner from 5:30 – 11 pm.

Masseria dei Vini is an authentic Italian dining experience located in Hell’s Kitchen and will be open on Saturday (7/2) from 12 pm – 12 pm, and Sunday (7/3) from 12 pm – 10 pm (closed July 4th). The restaurant features daily crudos, a large selection of house made pastatraditional dishes from Puglia, where Chef-Partner Pino Coladonato was born, and a large selection of wines mainly from Italy. Many proteins are created in a Ferrara wood-burning pizza oven that has lava rocks from Mount Vesuvius giving the dishes a distinct taste. The extensive wine program was designed by Enzo Ruggiero, whose passion for wine began as a child going to local vineyards with his grandfather where they would stomp grapes to make the family wine. The program contains more than 400 different labels, with approximately 90-percent of the catalogue coming from Italy, and the other 10-percent from around the world.

Masseria Caffè, a traditional Italian caffè located in Hell’s Kitchen, is an expansion from La Masseria Restaurant Group, comprised of partners Peppe IueleEnzo Ruggiero, and father and son team Pino and Vito Coladonato. The caffè will be open on the Fourth of July weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am – 8 pm, serving authentic Italian pastries made fresh daily. It features best sellers from La Masseria restaurant’s dessert selection like bomboloni, an Italian doughnut filled with Nutella, custard cream, and marmalade and Cannolo Siciliano filled with sheep’s milk ricotta. Masseria Caffè also serves sandwiches like Pan Brioiche which is filled with Italian ham, and asiago cheese or eggs, spinach, and tomato; along with other sandwiches and panini options, focaccia, and salads. Furthering the authentic experience, the coffee program offers espresso, cold brew, and nitro brew, all made with Lavazza coffee in the state-of-the-art espresso machine, the Victoria Arduino. The caffè has a small shop of imported artisanal Italian products, all hand-selected by the owners, including Masseria group’s branded olive oil and homemade grissini and biscotti.
