The show premieres Sunday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT) on Univision.

Each week, eight different families will face diverse challenges designed put their authentic flavors to the ultimate test.

The Vázquezes, the Merinos, the Eks, the Nahúms, the Toledos, the Gudiños, the Bárcenases, and the Wongs are the eight families who will face off to determine whose home is the best place to eat. From preparing tamales to cooking field rats, the eight teams will be eliminated one by one until one lucky family earns the winner title and takes home the grand prize of $75,000.

The expert judges, each a chef with a distinct specialty, who will choose the winning team are:

Chef Antonio de Livier – His experience with restaurants in the U.S. have made him an expert of Chinese, American and Italian cuisine. de Livier currently owns two restaurants in Mexico, one in Mexico City and one in Guadalajara.

Chef Carlos Gaytán – After many years of hard work in the U.S., Gaytán’s restaurant received a Michelin star, making him the first Mexican chef to acheive this honor.

In the kitchen, the competing families will have to do everything in their power to present their meals in a way that is worthy of their culture and traditions.

Inés Gómez Mont will be the host of “Familias Frente al Fuego, Desafío en la Cocina,” following the families as they take this journey of flavors and emotions that are sure to satisfy every viewer’s appetite for heart-pounding, mouthwatering family entertainment.
