In preparation for a healthier 2023, former Boys & Girls Clubs of America member Mario Lopez  teamed up with Knorr to bring a delicious holiday recipe and to unveil the newly renovated kitchen at the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank.

Lopez, who has an affinity to this organization due to his own experiences with the club, and Unilever Chef Chris Bilyk, unveiled the kitchen refresh at the Burbank club and led  a live cooking class together, teaching club members how to prepare delicious and nutritious Knorr  recipes for under $4 per serving.

During the event, Lopez mentioned: “Much like for many folks here today, growing up, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America was a huge part of  my life I am thrilled to be here celebrating all of you, in this place that means so much to me unveiling this kitchen refresher that will allow the club to continue providing for its members while also reaching the community beyond the walks of the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank.”

With the new improvements made to the kitchen, in addition to being able to provide education about nutrition, the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank qualifies for licensing that allows the club to share the space with other non-profit organizations and businesses, further enhancing youth support and well-being through scholarship and more. The youths in attendance expressed their excitement for the opportunity to cook with Mario Lope and learn to create a simple, nutritious and delicious recipe.

Knorr continues to support Boys and Girls Clubs of America Healthy Habits program for the second year. This program addresses the ways an individual’s health behaviors are influenced by personal beliefs and exposure to positive modeling and teaches youth how to cook healthier and affordable meals.
