VINT & YORK, a vintage-inspired fashion eyewear brand from NY has recently collaborated with Smithsonian, the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, on a limited vintage-inspired collection.

The collection, named “The Time Capsule,” is a nod to the historical references used as inspiration on the four new frames (available both as sunglasses and eyeglasses). Each frame tells the story of one of the inspirational artifacts below, dating back to the early to mid-1900s:

  1. A unique gold and amethyst Tiffany necklace, a remarkable historical Art Nouveau piece of jewelry
  2. Betty Brader’s innovative work on the famous Joseph Magnin fashion illustrations
  3. A vintage menswear ad produced by Henry Booth, who innovated the textile industry
  4. The Bell X-1, the first airplane to fly faster than the speed of sound in 1947

The collection is available for a very limited time online at www.vintandyork.com or in the flagship store in the heart of New York City’s NoLita.
