As New York continues to bounce back from the pandemic, a brand new hotel has arrived to add excitement to quiet beach days.  The Rockaway Hotel is an upscale lifestyle property that opened its doors earlier this month.

The hotel is a vibrant, community-driven, full-service resort located in the heart of Rockaway Beach and is the first of its kind in the area for over 100 years.  Inspired by the area’s rich surf history and serving the Rockaway Beach community, New Yorkers at large and travelers from afar, The Rockaway Hotel will become a premier destination.

The hotel boasts a robust art program, curated by Partner and Social Impact Officer Michi Jigarjian, which showcases both local and international artists; the hotel also spearheads and supports public arts initiatives. The 84,000 sq ft. hotel has placed an emphasis on supporting the dynamic culture of Rockaway Beach, partnering with several local businesses and organizations to create programming and amenities.

The hotel is currently offering the below programming and amenities:

  • Heated outdoor pool with private cabanas and a The Pool restaurant offering fresh fare and cocktails

  • The Rooftop bar, set on the sixth floor with outdoor lounge seating and sweeping views of Manhattan, Jamaica Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean

  • Daily outdoor, socially distanced fitness classes and guided meditations by partners The Ness, Ocean Bliss Yoga, and more

  • Bicycles for guests to ride around Rockaway Beach and the boardwalk

    Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC

  • Surf partnership with Locals Surf School so guests can take advantage of the impressive Fall swell (the hotel is offering 35% off a two night stay for surfers traveling to the area)

The hotel, open year-round, is easily accessible via subway or the ferry, and is only 15 minutes away from JFK airport.  Rates start at $350 per night.
